innovation and expertise into one device, including integrated printing
and contour cutting capabilities, next generation print head technology
and accelerated print speeds. Available in three sizes and ink
configurations, the VS series is also capable of printing white text,
floods and hundreds of brilliant metallic colors for premium graphics
and wraps. Affordably priced, the VersaCAMM VS wide-format printers are
both an exceptional value and a uniquely versatile production tool.
Metallic Silver Effects
A remarkable innovation in advanced inkjet technology, the VS Series is
available with an optional metallic and white ink configuration that
allows users to add value and sophistication to virtually any graphic.
Recognized as DPI Product of the Year, Metallic Silver Eco-SOL MAX ink can be printed as a spot color or combined with CMYK to produce over 500 striking metallic and pearlescent colors.
Automated Ink Circulation System
To prevent the pigments in metallic silver and white inks from settling,
all VS series wide format printers come standard with Roland's
automated Ink Circulation System. Designed to reduce waste of white and
metallic silver ink, the circulation system dramatically lowers running
costs while ensuring exceptional image quality throughout the longest
Two Print Modes for Metallic Effects
Choose from Blended and Layered print modes to optimize metallic
images. Blended mode prints CMYKLcLm and metallic silver ink together
for more natural metallic colors, while Layered mode prints metallic
silver first, followed by CMYKLcLm in one pass to add richness to
VersaWorks RIP Software
Developed exclusively for Roland inkjet printers and printer/cutters, VersaWorks RIP software™
takes full advantage of the VS Series capabilities. Based on the latest
Adobe® CPSI 3019 engine, VersaWorks includes advanced error diffusion
and 16-bit rendering for exceptional production output and unmatched
ease-of-use, and is fully compatible with Windows® 7, Vista and XP.
VersaWorks supports the Roland Color system, which accurately
reproduces more than 1,000 standard colors and 512 metallic colors.
Preset print options include a High-speed mode for production banner
printing, the MAX Impact preset for vivid outdoor graphics, and Artistic
mode for exceptional indoor graphics. This advanced RIP also
automatically estimates the ink usage and print time for each graphic so
you can accurately monitor time and costs. VersaWorks also offers
Variable Data Printing, embedded ICC profile support, software proofing
capabilities, ink level adjustment tools, and advanced cropping, tiling
and nesting options.
The VersaCAMM VS streamlines the production process by automatically
contour cutting printed graphics and eliminates the need to reload and
reposition graphics, saving you valuable time and resources.
For laminated graphics, our Quadralign four-point optical
registration system allows users to remove prints, laminate and simply
reload them for precision cutting. Quadralign automatically realigns
the cutting path and compensates for skew and distortion. The VS also
functions as a stand-alone vinyl cutter.
ECO-SOL MAX Ink
Eco-SOL MAX is
a remarkable innovation in ink technology, offering fast drying time,
high density, wide color gamut, rugged scratch resistance, low-cost per
square foot, and broad coated and uncoated media support. Virtually
odorless, Eco-SOL MAX ioffers CMYK+Lc+Lm+Mt+W ink available in 440 mL
and 220 mL cartridges (metallic silver and white 220 mL only). Eco-SOL
MAX is water and UV-resistant up to three years outdoors* for CMYK
graphics, up to one year outdoors for white ink, and one to three years
outdoors for metallic silver ink.
* Outdoor durability is based on accelerated weather tests. Results
may vary depending upon location and application. Dry times vary
depending on specific media characteristics. Lamination may be required
for some applications or environmental conditions.
Roland Intelligent Pass Control Technology
This patent-pending system precisely controls dot placement between
passes, allowing the VersaCAMM VS series to produce smooth gradations
and flawless solid colors, while achieving faster throughput with
virtually no banding in all print modes. This technology increases
productivity by delivering the same print quality at higher speeds
Advanced 8-Channel Print Head Technology
The VS series incorporates the latest in variable droplet inkjet
printing technology. The new eight-channel Piezo inkjet print head
contains 180 nozzles per channel in a gold-plated housing to reduce
static and prevent clogging. With seven different droplet sizes
available, the VS series achieves remarkably smooth gradations and
richer density for photographic and high-resolution vector output. A new
head protection plate and recessed print head prevent head strikes from
With print speeds of up to 248.6 sq. ft. per hour for CMYK
applications (VS-640) and print/cut capability, the VersaCAMM VS further
expedites the production cycle by allowing you to print and contour cut
your designs together – even unattended – in one easy step.
Advanced Media Handling
A true production printer, the VS features an advanced media handling
system allowing users to feed rolls up to 88 pounds for the VS-640, 66
pounds for the 540, 55 pounds for both the 420 and 300. Upgraded media
flanges and seven pinch rollers secure the heaviest media in place,
providing accurate feeding and tracking throughout the longest of
production runs. Adjustable print heads enable you to accommodate
variable media thicknesses.
Integrated Heating System
Roland printers are designed to dry prints quickly even in high-speed
modes for immediate finishing, installation or collection by the
take-up system. VS series wide format printers feature a built-in,
two-stage integrated heater system that accommodates a wide range of
media options. This advanced system precisely controls the proper amount
of heat for each application, yielding outstanding results every time.
For maximum convenience, users can store individual settings right in
High-Speed Network Connection
Equipped with Roland's own 100 Base-TX/10 Base-T interface, VS
series connects seamlessly to office networks without additional
software, achieving an increased data transmission rate of 100 Mb/sec.
This makes it easy to configure a highly efficient printing environment.
